The Role 

Our client is seeking a senior-level Litigation Docketing Specialist to join its legal team in Indianapolis, IN. This role requires advanced expertise in rule-based calendaring systems and deep knowledge of federal, state, and local court rules. The ideal candidate will play a leadership role, supporting firm-wide docketing accuracy, training staff, and ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Interpret legal documents to identify and calendar critical litigation deadlines 
  • Create, maintain, and update docket events in Aderant CompuLaw 
  • Manually calculate deadlines when required based on court rules 
  • Maintain accurate docket data and generate reports for litigation teams 
  • Research and monitor changes to federal, state, and local court rules 
  • Develop training materials and mentor docketing staff on procedural updates 
  • Collaborate with attorneys, staff, and court personnel to resolve docketing questions 
  • Support the Docketing Manager with special projects and firm-wide initiatives 

What You Bring 

  • 5–7 years of litigation docketing experience in a law firm environment 
  • Hands-on experience with Aderant CompuLaw or comparable systems (CourtAlert, eDockets) 
  • Strong understanding of litigation processes and court rules 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook 
  • Ability to interpret complex legal filings and extract critical deadlines 
  • Experience training or mentoring docketing staff 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

Must-Haves (Required to Submit) 

  • 5–7 years of direct litigation docketing experience 
  • Proficiency with Aderant CompuLaw or other rule-based calendaring systems 
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local court rules 
  • Advanced MS Office skills 
  • Experience training or mentoring docketing staff 
  • Comfort with pay range of $36.06 – $40.87 per hour 
  • Salary requirement confirmed 
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • No sponsorship required now or in the future
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in Indianapolis, IN 

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) 

  • Relativity Certified Administrator credential 
  • Experience developing training materials or reference guides 
  • Background supporting firm-wide docketing initiatives or special projects 
  • Multi-jurisdiction docketing experience across the United States
