About the Opportunity
We are recruiting for a respected, family-oriented regional leader in commercial and industrial construction safety. This is not a desk job or policy-writing role—it is a hands-on, field-driven leadership position where safety leadership is visible, practical, and action- oriented. The role supports projects across HVAC, plumbing/piping, sheet metal, electrical, drywall, masonry, hospitals, chemical plants, waste treatment, and manufacturing environments.
Position Overview
The Safety Manager will oversee and drive the company’s safety culture across approximately 150 field employees. This position requires 70% regional travel with no overnight stays. A company truck is provided.
Commutable from: Cincinnati, Columbus, and Dayton
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct job site inspections and audits
- Identify hazards and enforce OSHA compliance
- Stop unsafe work when necessary
- Provide hands-on coaching and mentorship
- Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis
- Implement corrective actions and maintain records
- Deliver safety training and manage Hazard Communication programs
- Oversee PPE selection and safety equipment
- Act as liaison to OSHA and emergency response teams
Qualifications & Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive safety experience in commercial or industrial construction
- Background in HVAC, plumbing/piping, sheet metal, electrical, drywall, masonry, or related trades
- 3+ years in a leadership role
- Strong communication and field presence
- Ability to travel regionally 70% of the time (no overnight)
- Valid driver’s license
- OSHA 500 or 501 required
- OSHA 510 or 511 required
- CHST or CSP preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $90,000 – $105,000
- Performance Bonus: 5% – 8%
