Large NYC-based self-performing heavy civil contractor delivering excavation, superstructure concrete, piling, and infrastructure projects across the New York City metropolitan area.
Position Overview
Immediate opening for a senior Heavy Civil Project Manager to replace a departing Lead Project Manager. Candidate must have 10+ years of continuous, verifiable experience as the lead Project Manager on major heavy civil projects exclusively within the NYC market.
Experience outside the NYC metro area will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex heavy civil projects from pre-construction through closeout
- Oversee deep excavation and Support of Excavation operations
- Manage heavy concrete operations including mass pours and elevated slabs
- Supervise pile drilling and pile driving activities
- Oversee waterproofing systems for below-grade structures
- Manage rock excavation and groundwater control operations
- Coordinate submittals, RFIs, scheduling, and project documentation
- Utilize Bluebeam and MS Project or P6 for project tracking
- Lead coordination with owners, engineers, and subcontractors
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10 years as a Project Manager with established NYC heavy civil contractors
- Proven delivery of complex, high-profile NYC heavy civil projects
- Hands-on expertise in deep excavation and Support of Excavation
- Heavy concrete and superstructure experience
- Pile drilling and pile driving experience
- Waterproofing systems and below-grade structure experience
- Rock excavation and de-watering experience
- Strong understanding of submittals and RFIs
- Proficient in Bluebeam and MS Project or P6
- Experience on large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects preferred
