Position Summary 

Responsible for leading production operations on the plant floor within a high-volume plastics/packaging environment. This role drives daily output, safety, quality, and workforce performance while coordinating across production, maintenance, and quality teams. The Production Supervisor owns shift execution and ensures all operational targets are met in a safe and efficient manner. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and oversee all production activities during assigned shift 
  • Ensure production schedules are executed on time and within targets 
  • Coordinate mold changeovers, machine startups, and line readiness 
  • Monitor and report on production metrics including downtime, scrap, and efficiency 
  • Enforce GMP, SOP, and plant safety standards across all team members 
  • Supervise, coach, and develop production associates and team leads 
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback 
  • Manage staffing levels to ensure optimal coverage across workstations 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives including Lean and 5S 
  • Troubleshoot production, process, and equipment issues in real time 
  • Work closely with Quality to resolve defects, rework, and product issues 
  • Ensure proper documentation of shift reports, ERP entries, and production data 
  • Maintain clear communication with incoming and outgoing shift supervisors 
  • Support maintenance activities including preventative and emergency work 
  • Promote a strong team culture focused on accountability and performance 

Education & Experience Requirements (Required) 

  • 2–3+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment 
  • Experience supervising production teams in a plant setting 
  • Strong understanding of production workflows and plant operations 
  • Ability to manage shift performance, metrics, and team output 
  • Strong communication and leadership skills 

Strong Plus 

  • Hands-on experience with plastic injection molding 
  • Experience with mold setup, changeovers, and troubleshooting 
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience 
  • Experience with ERP systems in manufacturing 

Nice to Have 

  • Forklift or crane certification 
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 
  • Exposure to automotive or high-volume manufacturing environments 

Work Environment 

Plant-based manufacturing environment. This is a fully on-site role requiring hands-on leadership presence on the production floor. Candidates must be comfortable working 12- hour rotating continental shifts.

  • Full range of motion including bending and twisting 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
