COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base Salary: $290,000 – $320,000
Estimated Total Compensation: $314,000 – $464,000 annually based on productivity (15–20 patient visits per day)

POSITION OVERVIEW
Our client’s outpatient healthcare and wellness clinic is seeking a Physician Medical Director – Infectious Disease (Family Practice or Internal Medicine background preferred) to join a fully staffed, mission-driven outpatient care team in the Greater Memphis area. This role offers a predictable schedule with no nights or weekends and a strong support structure.
KEY REQUIREMENTS (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
- MD or DO with an active, state-appropriate Medical Board license
- Valid DEA registration and Furnishing License
- Minimum of 2 years of outpatient clinical experience
- Infectious Disease Physician experience required
- Comfortable seeing 14–18 patients per day
- Prior experience diagnosing and treating patients in an outpatient primary care setting
- AAHIVM Certification required within 18 months of hire
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide high-quality outpatient medical care while meeting productivity standards
- Manage a minimum of 14 patients per 8-hour shift (7 patients per half-day session)
- Oversee patient scheduling to minimize no-shows and support productivity benchmarks
- Complete documentation the same day or within 72 hours, including accurate E&M billing codes
- Provide care for chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma, hyperlipidemia, and COPD
- Diagnose and treat acute conditions including infections, HIV, STIs, UTIs, burns, and respiratory illnesses
- Collaborate with care coordinators, nursing staff, and front desk teams to manage walk-ins and urgent needs
- Review consultant reports, imaging, and lab results in a timely manner
- Process prescription renewals within 72 hours
- Monitor and respond to patient voicemails and emails daily
- Support patient retention initiatives and reporting
- Supervise and support mid-level providers (PAs and NPs), including chart reviews as required
- Provide after-hours on-call coverage as assigned
- Maintain AAHIVM certification and ongoing renewals
- Utilize 4 hours of protected administrative time per week for full-time physicians
QUALIFICATIONS
- MD or DO with active state medical license
- Valid DEA and Furnishing License
- Outpatient primary care experience required
- Ability to manage 14–18 patients daily in a supported environment
- AAHIVM Certification required within 18 months of start date
- Active CPR/BLS certification
EDUCATION & SKILLS
- Doctorate (MD or DO); Board Certification preferred

- Excellent communication skills for patient care and documentation
- Strong organizational skills with attention to timely documentation and follow-up
- Ability to apply analytical reasoning and statistical judgment to clinical decisions
