Role Snapshot
The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for improving manufacturing efficiency through process analysis, work design, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role partners closely with Manufacturing and Product Design to eliminate inefficiencies, reduce cost, and improve safety, quality, and throughput. This is a high-priority role with flexibility on background as long as the candidate brings strong manufacturing or process engineering experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and safety
- Collaborate cross-functionally to transition new processes, technologies, and equipment on time and on budget
- Lead and participate in root cause analysis, corrective action, and preventative initiatives
- Analyze process data to identify trends and propose process improvements
- Identify and implement cost-reduction, waste-reduction, and efficiency initiatives
- Monitor process performance metrics including cycle time, yield, and scrap rates
- Provide hands-on technical troubleshooting and process support to production teams
- Train and guide production teams on procedures, equipment, and new processes
- Maintain process documentation including APQP, machine setup, work instructions, and gage instructions
- Support Product Design to ensure manufacturability of existing and new designs
- Own and support tooling including molds, dies, fixtures, and gauges
- Deliver projects on spec, on time, and on budget
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required)
- Manufacturing engineering or process engineering experience required
- Experience supporting product design and manufacturability
- Experience working with tooling such as molds, dies, fixtures, and gauges
- Prior project-based engineering experience
- Die cast background is a plus but not required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
