About the Role
Facet Advisors is seeking an Assurance Manager to lead assurance and non-assurance engagements, mentor junior staff, and build strong client relationships within a progressive and forward-thinking firm.
This position is ideal for a CPA with strong technical knowledge of ASPE, tax compliance, and review engagements, who thrives in a collaborative, client-facing environment. The role offers leadership exposure, hands-on client interaction from day one, and opportunities for advancement in a rapidly growing practice.

Key Responsibilities
Assurance & Review Engagements

  • Prepare and review assurance and non-assurance files in accordance with ASPE and firm standards.
  • Lead or perform review engagements, ensuring high-quality execution and compliance with professional standards.
  • Prepare and review corporate, personal, and estate tax returns, maintaining accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Conduct research on evolving accounting and assurance standards to ensure continuous compliance.
  • Offer practical, real-world advice that helps clients make informed business decisions.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, serving as a proactive, consultative partner.
  • Provide clear, solution-oriented communication tailored to client needs.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and support firm growth through business development initiatives.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Supervise and mentor a team of four professionals, fostering professional development through training and ongoing feedback.
  • Participate in recruitment efforts, including interviewing and onboarding new staff.
  • Encourage collaboration, accountability, and technical growth within the team.
  • Share knowledge and insights to promote learning and service excellence.

Practice Development & Collaboration

  • Work independently on special assignments and contribute to internal firm initiatives.
  • Support the firm’s entrepreneurial and flexible work environment, promoting innovation and efficiency.
  • Participate in firm events and team-building activities to strengthen culture and engagement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • CPA designation in good standing (any Canadian legacy stream)
  • 1–3 years post-designation experience in public practice accounting
  • Strong technical knowledge of ASPE and assurance standards
  • Experience leading or performing review and compilation engagements
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing corporate, personal, and estate tax returns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage staff
  • Strong client relationship and interpersonal skills

Ideal Background
