The Role
Our client, a growing property management company, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance operations for a large apartment community in Austintown, just outside Youngstown, Ohio. This full-time, salaried role includes competitive pay, strong benefits, and a free one-bedroom apartment after 90 days of employment. Candidates located in Youngstown, Austintown, or nearby Pennsylvania within a 30-minute radius are encouraged to apply. Work Schedule & On-Call Expectations This is a full-time, exempt position with an expected 40-hour workweek. Additional hours may be required to meet business needs, project deadlines, or emergencies. The Maintenance Manager is not part of the regular on-call rotation but serves as a required backup and must agree to participate as discussed during the interview process. Candidates must bring their own tools on the first day.
What You’ll Do
- Lead daily maintenance operations across the apartment community
- Coordinate repairs, preventive maintenance, and capital projects
- Train, supervise, and mentor maintenance technicians
- Manage vendors and contractors for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, and snow removal
- Oversee unit turns and move-in readiness in coordination with leasing and prep teams
- Monitor maintenance budgets, order supplies, and manage inventory
- Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Serve as backup for the on-call emergency rotation as needed
What You Bring
- Hands-on leadership experience in multifamily or property maintenance environments
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems
- Proven experience supervising maintenance staff and managing vendors
- Budgeting and cost-control experience
- Comfort using property management or maintenance software (Yardi, RealPage, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies or resident issues
