Role Snapshot
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for performing electrical-focused building and equipment maintenance across the facility. This role works with systems ranging from three-phase primary voltages to low-voltage control systems and ensures all work meets NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards. This is a hands-on, first-shift role.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical maintenance and repairs generated through the Facilities Services work order system
- Work on systems ranging from three-phase primary voltages to low-voltage control systems in compliance with NFPA 70
- Interpret drawings, schematics, blueprints, and product manuals to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Prepare material lists and coordinate supplies required for maintenance projects
- Participate in maintenance and inspection schedules for fire alarms, elevators, building automation systems, and backup generators
- Assist Boiler Operators with heating plant boiler system repairs as needed
- Support other Facilities Services teams including Grounds, Heating Plant, Carpenters, Plumbers, and Movers
- Manage inventory and supplies for the electrical shop
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, tools, and maintenance vehicles
- Assist with snow removal when required
Education & Experience Requirements
- High School diploma required
- Minimum 4+ years of experience installing and repairing electrical systems
- Strong experience working with three-phase and low-voltage electrical systems
- Ability to safely work in a facilities or industrial environment
